Rightsize Facility Detroit joined forces with friends from Global Furniture Group and Security 101 to sponsor Dodge For Detroit, the fourth annual dodgeball tournament benefiting the Boy Scouts of America.
The event, held on August 2 at Cadillac Square in downtown Detroit, raised over $60,000, which will go to fund Scouts’ outreach programs that support more than 4,000 socio-economically disadvantaged youth in southeastern Michigan. These efforts aim to alleviate financial obstacles for youth and their families, making it possible for any interested young people to participate in the Scouts.
“The power of our Scoutreach program to reach youth who most need positive mentors and the freedom to learn and grow in an inclusive, nonjudgmental atmosphere is unmatched,” Marianne Simancek, president of the Detroit-area Boy Scout Council, told WXYZ Detroit. “We are grateful to those in the communities we serve who have stepped up to be a part of this Dodgeball tournament.”
At this year’s Dodge for Detroit, 48 teams of six to 10 players competed in a spirited round-robin dodgeball tournament. Around 1,000 attendees cheered on the players and enjoyed music, food, and drinks in a festive happy hour environment. Rightsize’s sponsor tent also offered attendees the chance to play games of cornhole and giant Jenga and Connect Four.
“I am so proud that Team Rightsize took home the first-place trophy!” said Nick Weise, Vice President and Michigan Market Leader, Rightsize Facility. “It’s just further proof that our team can accomplish anything together. We hope to see all of our friends and business partners down there next year!”
The entire Rightsize Facility team is proud to celebrate this dodgeball victory and help support the Boy Scouts of America’s mission.
