Objective
Support the vision for La Joya Gardens, a mixed-use affordable housing and commercial development in Southwest Detroit, by furnishing key common areas and the café/community space. The goal was to honor the original architectural and design intent while working within a strict project budget and meeting the functional needs of the café tenant.
Design Solution
Rightsize Facility partnered with the Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA) and Cinnaire to develop a furniture package that complemented the design direction established by SITIO Architecture. Furnishings were carefully selected for the shared common spaces and café/community room, balancing aesthetics, durability, functionality, and cost.
Desired Outcome
Deliver welcoming, functional community spaces that feel cohesive with the overall vision for La Joya Gardens while maximizing the project budget. The completed spaces support residents, visitors, and the café operator while contributing to the development’s broader goal of creating an active neighborhood destination in Southwest Detroit.
