PLAN. FURNISH. SERVICE.
New furniture. Pre-owned possibilities.
Qualifying new and pre-owned office furniture may be eligible. Desks, task chairs, workstations, conference tables and storage can be part of the conversation. Your tax advisor should confirm eligibility for each asset.
Timing matters.
For a calendar-year business seeking a 2026 deduction, furniture must be placed in service by December 31, 2026. That means ready and available for business use. Placing an order or paying a deposit alone is not enough.
This is an educational estimate, not tax advice, a tax credit, a refund guarantee or a price reduction from Rightsize. Section 179 is limited by taxable income from active trades or businesses. Results assume sufficient income, 100% business use, eligible purchases and full use of deductions at the entered marginal rate. Bonus depreciation may create a tax loss; its actual cash benefit may occur later or be limited. State conformity, QBI effects, entity and owner-level limits, financing terms, recapture, carryovers and other tax interactions are not modeled.
The model allocates available Section 179 to this purchase first, then applies optional 100% bonus depreciation to remaining eligible basis. Other qualifying purchases reduce the annual limit dollar for dollar above $4,090,000; Section 179 phases out fully at $6,650,000. If bonus is off, ordinary MACRS depreciation on remaining basis is excluded, so the displayed deduction is not a complete depreciation calculation. General moving, storage, design and renovation expenses are not automatically eligible furniture costs. Confirm capitalizable delivery and installation costs with your tax advisor.
