THE STORY
Objective
Baumann Consulting set out to transform their Washington, D.C. office into a modern, sustainable workspace that would prioritize employee well-being and productivity. The goal was to design an environment that would foster collaboration, flexibility, and a healthier work atmosphere, aligning with Baumann’s commitment to eco-friendly practices and a collaborative culture.
Design Solution
Rightsize approached the project with a focus on integrating sustainability and wellness. Refurbished Herman Miller workstations served as ergonomic, eco-conscious foundations, providing employees with high-quality setups that support both focused work and teamwork. Height-adjustable desks were incorporated to allow employees to alternate between sitting and standing, promoting a healthier, more dynamic workspace. The introduction of abundant plants and greenery improved air quality and provided a calming, natural aesthetic, reinforcing a connection to nature within the office. Flexible meeting spaces were thoughtfully designed to accommodate a range of collaborative needs, from private strategy sessions in formal rooms to informal huddle areas for quick discussions. Flexible furniture and integrated technology completed the design, allowing the space to be easily reconfigured to adapt to various team and event needs.
Desired Outcome
The renovated D.C. office embodies Baumann Consulting’s forward-thinking approach to sustainability and employee wellness, providing a workspace that supports individual focus and team synergy. The incorporation of refurbished, sustainable furniture, greenery, and ergonomic features has created a vibrant and adaptive environment that aligns with Baumann’s core values. The design supports a seamless transition between solo and collaborative work, enhancing productivity and fostering a culture of well-being and flexibility for employees.
