With an eye toward future growth, the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation announced this week that it will move its headquarters to the historic Fisher Building in Detroit’s New Center in October 2017. The Foundation will relocate from a temporary space in the old Hutzel Hospital building, and lease a 5,700-square-foot space on the Fisher Building’s second floor.
Rightsize Facility is proud to partner with the Foundation to PLAN and FURNISH its new space, and support programs that help children thrive in Michigan.
The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation is a charitable organization that funds pediatric research, community programs, medical education, and other local initiatives related to children’s health. In a 2017 needs assessment, the Foundation identified these five areas of focus: mental health, nutritional wellness, abuse and neglect, oncology and cardiology research, and injury prevention.
“We believe it is important to be located in the community we serve, in close proximity to our partners, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan,” said Matt Friedman, the Foundation’s Chairman of the Board. “This move is not only important to the Foundation’s operational efficiency but a major step in developing a brand that the entire community can embrace and experience.”
Rightsize is providing consulting services and furniture solutions at a discounted rate for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. We are also donating a portion of our proceeds back to the Foundation through a sponsorship for the Leaders for Kids Summer Recess, a hospital advisory board that funds initiatives including the Healing Art Program, the Hamtramck School-Based Health Center, and the Princesses & Superheroes Party for terminally ill children and their families.
“The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation has given so much to the families of Detroit, and we’re honored to play a small part in the work they do,” said Nick Weise, Rightsize’s Michigan Team Lead. “The programs they offer will continue to improve the lives of children in our community—this project definitely touched every single member of our team.”
