When Irontek, a Wisconsin startup shared office space company, opened in January 2016, Rightsize had the space well equipped for them to take entrepreneurs and their businesses from concept to completion.

Focusing primarily on technology businesses, the shared and private spaces needed to convey a modern, industrial feel and complement the brand. The company sought to attract and retain clientele to the 20,000-square-foot space with functional, innovative furnishings and a space plan that accommodated private and communal use.

“The company chose an old industrial building with great bones,” explained Workplace Solutions Manager Mary Toepel, “and although we updated it, we maintained the character and kept the look and feel intact.  From an aesthetic standpoint, it was stunning.”

Rightsize completed the project in less than six months, within an innovation budget, including all steps in the PLAN, FURNISH and SERVICE process.

The project included 16 private offices, open space, two “war rooms” and a conference room. Rightsize used a BLENDED SOLUTION including Global furniture with AV power and flip top table applications, pre-owned Knoll guest seating, and custom-made pieces from WOODWORKSPACES, including a copper and reclaimed wood desk that anchored the reception area.

The kitchen featured new counters but incorporated bolts and hardware to reflect the character of the building.

Rightsize included Value Added Solutions partner Daisy Chain Power for technology installation.

Workplace Solutions Manager Heather Conard considers the space planning, furniture specification and procurement and installation one of the most streamlined projects she has worked on.

The design incorporated functional, clean lines and provided much-needed additional storage. All new, value-added furniture included a Cherryman reception desk, private office desks, meeting table and task seating. The conference room featured a new value-added Office Star table and Regency seating. Preowned Meridian lateral files provided the additional needed storage.

The four-month process incorporated space planning, furniture specification and procurement and installation within a $400,000 budget, making it a seamless move from the national headquarters office into a separate, 22,095-square-foot space. Rightsize used a blended solution for workstations including 130 refurbished Herman Miller workstations and Global desk chairs. The 15 private offices feature new 3H furniture. The lounge features Source Seating and the breakroom and training room feature Mayline.

Punches of color give eye appeal in the workstations, which contain light blue tac boards. Furniture with clean lines was selected to match walls painted in Pantone colors, giving the office a balance between an old school feel with a hint of modern.
